Dimitriy Stefoglo – Plant Operations
Dimitriy displays an unconditional positive attitude and is very innovative when confronted with limited resources. He does not limit assistance to patients and visitors; he treats all his coworkers and in house customers with the same urgency. This person enjoys working with people and it shows every day when he’s on duty as a South Bay Employee and when he’s off duty just being himself.
Time and time again, Dimitriy has really come through for our patients. He never complains when there is a “rush” request and attends to any need right away. A recent example of this was when a paralyzed patient could not see the clock in his room because he could not turn his head. Just a few moments later, he was mounting a clock on the other side of the room. The patient and his wife really appreciated it. Thanks for making a difference!

Bruce Moyant, Laboratory
Bruce Moyant addresses their workload with a “patient first” mentality and applies critical thinking to his work. He is conscientious, efficient, and accurate which makes him a valuable employee to the department and to the hospital. He consistently accommodates the staffing needs of the department, even to the extent of rearranging his personal life. Bruce is so flexible that he will work any shift. Bruce was nominated by a coworker for his diligence and a “great catch” on a stat blood order that resulted in the postponement of a surgery. Had his suggestion to the surgical team to review the patient’s H&H not been taken, the result may have been a very bad outcome for the patient. Great catch!

Hopel Matthews, CNA
Hopel is tenacious when it comes to providing care for our customers at South Bay Hospital. There are many descriptive words that are used to describe this outstanding employee. She is not only described as having a big heart by our patients, but by her co workers as well. Outstanding is a word used several times on her many iCare nominations. One of our patient’s wrote that she could not wait until the next morning because she looked forward to seeing Hopel. Many families and patients commented that she consistently goes above and beyond her general job duties to provide care and comfort to their loved ones.
